About PMK

Purvanchal Mahila Kalyan Avam Samajothan Sansthan was founded on 5 May 1992 in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Registered on 30 January 1993, PMK emerged in response to issues of overpopulation, poverty, unemployment, and social injustice in rural communities.

Over three decades, PMK has expanded from literacy and awareness programs to large-scale development initiatives in health, women’s empowerment, agriculture, vocational training, and environmental conservation.

Our work spans across Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Western Bihar, and we collaborate nationally and internationally with partners such as Red Crescent Society, Banaras Hindu University, National Medicinal Plant Board, and others.

We are recognized at district, state, and national levels as a model NGO for grassroots empowerment, transparency, and participatory governance.
